Welcome
We invite proposals for the Arecibo 305-m telescope for the Thursday, September 10, 2020 (17:00 AST, 21:00 UTC) deadline. These requests should be for telescope/radar usage within the six-month (or in some cases one-year) period beginning January 1, 2021.
Proposals should be prepared under the procedures detailed in our guidelines. Please note that these were substantially revised recently by the Arecibo Scheduling Advisory Committee (ASAC) following feedback from Arecibo Observatory Users' Committee (AOUC). A summary of the major changes and the rationale behind them can be found here. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the new policies and procedures can be found here.
Important Notices:
We regret that, due to Congressional restrictions on the use of NASA funds, we are unable to host on-site observers working for institutions in China. Observers from China are welcome to apply for time as remote or in-absentia observers, but should meet the criteria for these observing modes. Please email any questions about this call for proposals to Christiano Brum (cbrum@naic.edu) or Noemi Pinilla (npinilla@ucf.edu) [Possibly useful links are listed at the right column]. |
Submit your proposalTo begin the proposal submission process, please Submit your cover sheet information and Upload your proposal body (containing the scientific and technical justification) as established in the Proposal Policies and Guidelines. NOTE: As an optional alternative, before you start your submission process you can now request an account in our system. This will allow you to SAVE your submission for multiple edits before you click the submit button. After submitting your account request, you will receive an email confirmation once it is approved and activated by the administrator. Quick Links |
